International Food Products Brings New $20 Million Dollar Plant to St. Louis
International Food Products has built a new industrial plant that combines a distribution center with R&D operations at the site of the old Ford Motors Plant in Hazelwood, MO. The new facility includes pre-engineered sanitary blending systems and several semi-automated packaging lines. These modular process systems were designed, built and installed by EPIC.
Machine Automated Assembly of Small Molecules
The discovery of new medications, electronic and solar device components has gotten a speed boost. The synthesis and purification of small organic molecules is now identifiable and replicable, a nearly impossible process to automate before now. Researchers at the University of Illinois have developed a synthetic chemical method and machine that creates 14 different classes of molecules. What discovery has enabled this leap forward in molecule automation?
