Most Challenging Packaging Line Integration Project:
Installation of Shrink Sleeve Labeling Unit on Existing Bottling Line for a national consumer products company: EPIC was contacted by a leading food company to install a new shrink sleeve labeling unit on an existing packaging line. The challenges included: installation within the customer’s existing line, integration of an existing accumulator, and a customer driven need for a reduced project schedule. In addition, the line required integration of a new unit and a line communications upgrade for Ethernet capability.
EPIC designed the line and planned the installation of the project in phases. Production halts were limited to weekends for minimization of the downtime required for final installation. The final construction finished two days ahead of planned schedule, with a successful start-up.
John’s favorite aspect of his job is seeing the operation run continuously in “full auto.” “Seeing the success of my hard work gives me pride in my career,” said John.
