The choices we make reveal the true nature of our character. Who you are, and who you are becoming is dictated by each and every choice that you make. Make a difference is someone’s life – choose to support Team EPIC in Over The Edge.
Over the Edge is a fundraising event that goes to support Special Olympics Missouri in their quest to accomplish their mission.
Special Olympics Missouri’s Mission Statement: “To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.”
Team EPIC has a goal of raising $10,000 for Over the Edge by October 4th. Justin Strate, Amy Rannebarger, Kim Hale, Jen Seitz and John Schott make up the team. The team is led by Jen Seitz and it is her second year as team Caption for EPIC’s Over the Edge team.
Seitz participates in Over the Edge because she’s had a small taste of what Special Olympics Athletes go through everyday: “Throughout life events, I have learned to appreciate the human body and it’s amazing capacity to self-sustain and have gained appreciation for my “normal” full function. My challenges and limitations have always been “temporary.” For individuals with special needs, the physical limitations are not temporary. My participation in this event provides funding to more than 2,000 local Special Olympics Athletes who overcome their limitations everyday!”
Things are financially tight for a lot of people, but more important than the amount given is making the choice to give. Whether you choose to give its $5 or $500 is irrelevant, the thought behind the gift is what is truly important. If you would like to make a difference in someone’s life you can donate here.
