EPIC recently took a trip down to Collinsville, Illinois to visit Fairmount Park Race Track as a part of the Random Events Committee’s way to bring the EPIC family together. At the race several employees presented the award to the winner of the race that EPIC sponsored. The Random Events Committee (REC) is a representative group of EPIC’s employees that plan, organize and publicize social events for EPIC’s workforce. “The group is charged with planning at least three events each year with at least one helping a charity and another with spouses or family,” states Michael Riehn, a member of REC.
The horse races were perfect for combining a causal get together for EPIC employees outside of the work place and a going away party for a former Controller. Other events that the REC committee has previously held include: two bowling parties, a trivia night benefiting the USO and a whiffle ball tournament.
REC’s mission is to plan events that interest a wide range of our employees. “We conducted a company wide survey at the beginning of the year, and Fairmount Park was voted one of the most popular ideas by our co-workers. Our committee was excited to organize a successful event with over 60 EPIC employees, families and friends in attendance,” explains Riehn.
